Western Australia fall armyworm roadshow: Strengthening area-wide management through collaboration
Roadshow overview and objectives
National fall armyworm (FAW) roadshow events were recently held in Carnarvon and Geraldton, Western Australia. These events shared insights from the ‘National FAW innovation system for the Australian vegetable industry’ (VG22006) project, to strengthen local pest management strategies. The event was organised in collaboration with vegetablesWA, the Western Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, the Carnarvon Growers Association, and Greater Northern Rural. The roadshow brought together 33 participants in Carnarvon and 32 in Geraldton, including growers, agronomists, and industry stakeholders, through on-farm engagement and technical workshops.

Various peak values have been recorded, most of which occur during the warm-weather season. Since the initiation of the trapping program, the highest number of male moths collected on traps was between January and February 2024.
