Community guidelines and moderation

The Queensland Primary Industries Engagement Hub – dpi.engagementhub.com.au website (eHub) is an online platform where you can share your views on initiatives and issues in agriculture, biosecurity, fisheries and forestry. These community guidelines are in place to ensure the eHub remains an enjoyable, respectful and safe online space for all users.

We may update these guidelines from time to time, and we encourage you to check back occasionally.

How to contribute constructively

The most effective way to share your opinion is through constructive contributions. Some things you can do to contribute to a safe and interactive community include:

  • Get involved - share your knowledge and experiences.
  • Engage with others - “like” and “unlike” other contributions, reply and comment on ideas and posts.
  • Show respect - don’t swear, abuse or write unkind things.
  • Be friendly - it’s okay to have a different opinion but be respectful.
  • Protect privacy - don’t share private or sensitive information about yourself or others.
  • Give credit - don’t post material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Stay on topic - keep your posts focused on what we are talking about.
  • Reach out – contact engage@dpi.qld.gov.au if you have questions, need more information or wish to report a post or user.

Community moderation

All comments and ideas submitted to the eHub will be moderated before being published.

Moderation is conducted during normal business hours. Posts submitted outside these hours (e.g. weekend or after hours) may not appear until the next business day. You will receive an email notification once your idea or comment is published.

We expect all participants to treat each other, as well as the department and our employees, with respect. Comments or posts may be removed if they:

  • contain vulgar or abusive language;
  • include personal attacks or discriminatory or offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups
  • are off-topic, unproductive or spam.
  • promote services, products or contain party political references.

Breaches of Community Guidelines

Moderators have the authority to take action against users who breach these community guidelines Users who do not comply with community guidelines or community moderation may face the following:

  • First breach – a warning email explaining why the behaviour or action was inappropriate.
