Nominate to join working groups to draft 5-year regional action plans.

Subscribe to stay up-to-date with consultation activities to develop and implement the 25-year blueprint.

Project overview

Public consultation has now closed on the draft 25-year blueprint for a thriving future for Queensland's primary industries. You are invited to engage in the next stage to draft 5-year regional action plans by nominating for the working groups using the form below.

The draft blueprint, Primary Industries Prosper 2050, has been co-designed with industry and other stakeholders as part of a staged consultation.

All feedback is now being reviewed to update Prosper 2050 for government consideration.

We will continue to work closely with industry government stakeholders to finalise and implement the blueprint.

We are now working towards the development of 5-year regional, timber and fisheries plans, which will be released for public consultation this year.

Thank you to everyone who expressed their interest in joining the Regional Industry and Government Working Groups (RIGWG) as part of the implementation of Prosper 2050.

The application process is now closed, and we are no longer accepting nominations.

The RIGWG will bring together key primary industry and government representatives from across the region to provide critical advice and input into the development of 5-year regional action plans.

There will be 3 RIGWGs with a working group in each region (north, central and south) who will identify place-based initiatives to support all of Queensland’s primary industries, including opportunities for industry co-investment within each region.

The fisheries and timber action plans are being developed separately, but their deliverables will be captured in the regional plans to reflect shared needs.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission in the coming weeks, whether they are successful or not.

Thank you again for your interest and commitment to supporting Queensland’s primary industries.

About the blueprint design

Together with industry and key stakeholders, the Queensland Government is embarking on a transformative journey, focusing on innovation and collaboration to design a 25-year blueprint for a better future to 2050.

Recognising global, national and local shifts affecting our primary industries makes this transformative change necessary.

To commence this journey, around 250 industry representatives from agriculture, fisheries, forestry, biosecurity, research, investment and government came together on 26 February at the Queensland Primary Industries Forum to discuss ideas.

The forum explored key factors that will influence Queensland’s primary industries, such as shifts in globalisation, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations, climate and labour needs, and the strategic opportunities offered by digital and technology, diversification, advanced manufacturing and international megatrends. You can view a summary of the forum discussions in the Document Library on this page.

The forum was followed by public consultation on the draft blueprint across the state, where we heard from thousands of Queenslanders on their ideas and experiences.

The blueprint will be co-invested and co-delivered with government, industry and stakeholders along the supply chain to reach the Government's goal to increase the value of Queensland’s primary industries to $30 billion by 2030.

The blueprint will be supported by a series of 5-year action plans that will be shaped by local priorities to ensure we can collectively deliver on our vision for primary industries.

For further information on the consultation stages for designing the blueprint, see our timeline on this page.
