Queensland Agri-ESG Community of Practice

Project overview

Icons relating to Environmental, Social, and Governance topics around the acronym ESG.

This Community of Practice (CoP) provides a forum for the Queensland agrisystem to have joined up conversations on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics across the private and public sectors, across industries, and across supply chains. This is to help participants stay abreast of emerging issues, strengthen networks, and build better capacity to assist with industry, corporate, and government policy and decision making. It also helps to bring together different areas of policy and expertise and facilitate cross pollination of ideas and solutions to the ESG challenges being faced by industries, and across supply chains.

You can engage with the CoP during our sessions (held every other month -ish), post or add comments to the discussion in the Community Chat, or share ideas on the Idea and Story Wall. We also have another platform on a Microsoft Teams Channel that you can engage with - all content is duplicated across both platforms.

  • Hi all - FYI Consultation period open until 12th September - Have your say on Queensland’s private protected areas

    There's a consultation opportunity open until the 12th of September to provide your feedback on A Fresh Start for Private Protected Areas – Discussion Paper. Link: https://www.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0031/612859/fresh-start-for-private-protected-areas-discussion-paper.pdf

    Queenslanders, including farmers and other landholders, are invited to share their thoughts on private protected areas through the discussion paper. 

    The paper explains how private protected areas currently work in Queensland, and asks for ideas on how to grow them across the state.

    Your feedback will help create a new approach to expand protected areas and achieve better environmental outcomes for the future.

  • Hello! FYI - AFI Public Consultation open now



    Accountability Framework Initiative (AFI) is currently doing public consultation on the Accountability Framework - it closes on 14 March 2025.

    AFI is particularly seeking feedback from companies using the framework and organisations aligning with its guidance on proposed updates to the Framework on topics related to:




    • Supply chain traceability, assessment, and control

    • Targets and progress

    • Verification

    • Supply chain management

    There is a discussion paper now open around international sustainability claims from DAFF that includes current and emerging sustainability requirements from markets

If you're having difficulties accessing meetings using this platform or any other technical issues please contact Camille (camille.page@dpi.qld.gov.au) and she will do her best to assist. 

Please email Camille (camille.page@dpi.qld.gov.au) and she will add you to the Teams Channel. You should then receive an email inviting you to join the Teams Channel, and can then click the link and 'open in browser'. Sign into the email account you used to sign in and follow the instructions. If you don't have a Microsoft 365 account you should be able to sign in using a guest account. 

 

We aim to have a meeting every 2 months or so; check the events calendar for more information.

Please email trade@dpi.qld.gov.au or camille.page@dpi.qld.gov.au to be added to the membership of the CoP. This ensures you will recieve an invite to every CoP session.
