Liz Alexander Bursary for AgTech Leadership 2026

Winner announced

Brisbane-based Britta Marsh, an AgTech consultant, ecosystem builder and early-stage investment associate, has been awarded the Liz Alexander Bursary for Leadership in AgTech and Innovation.

Britta was recognised for her outstanding contributions to AgTech in Queensland and her passion for strengthening pathways for regional, producer-led innovation.

She has worked with more than 200 AgTech startups nationally and serves on the Australian Agritech Association’s National Committee. Britta is currently an associate at Queensland-based venture capital firm 77 Partners and is passionate about strengthening pathways for regional, producer-led innovation. She is based in Brisbane and works closely with founders, producers and investors across Queensland and Australia.

Through the bursary, Britta will attend evokeAG 2026 in Melbourne, the Asia Pacific’s premier agrifood innovation event. This will enable Britta to connect with global agriculture leaders and build on her expertise.

Liz Alexander’s legacy of AgTech leadership continues to live on through this bursary and its winners.

About the bursary

The Liz Alexander Bursary for Leadership in AgTech and Innovation celebrates the life, work and enduring legacy of Liz Alexander, a passionate advocate for agricultural innovation, collaboration and regional leadership in Queensland.

Liz was instrumental in shaping Queensland’s AgTech ecosystem. Based in Emerald, she dedicated her career to connecting producers, innovators and researchers, helping communities build the confidence, capability and networks needed to adopt new technology and embrace innovation.

Her belief in the power of collaboration and community inspired countless individuals to see opportunity in change. Liz’s work built the foundation for the thriving innovation ecosystems we see across Queensland today.

The bursary was announced at evokeAG 2025, in recognition of Liz’s lasting impact on the state’s agricultural innovation landscape. Managed by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI), the bursary will be delivered annually.

Each year, it will provide $3,000 for an emerging AgTech leader to attend evokeAG, supporting access to new ideas, global connections, and industry-leading insights, continuing Liz’s vision of empowering others and driving Queensland’s innovation future.
