  • Regional Biosecurity Profiles - Understanding the factors that influence biosecurity across Queensland

Biosecurity challenges and opportunities vary significantly across Queensland.

The environmental, social and economic conditions that influence biosecurity in the Torres Strait and Far North Queensland are different to those experienced in Central Queensland's agricultural production systems or the intensive farming, freight and peri-urban environments of South Queensland.

To support a shared understanding of these regional differences, Biosecurity Queensland has developed the North, Central and South Regional Biosecurity Profiles.

The profiles provide a region-specific overview of the environmental, social and economic factors that influence how pests and diseases may emerge, move and affect communities, industries and environments across Queensland.

Developed in response to stakeholder feedback, the profiles bring together publicly available information and regional context into a consistent statewide framework to support discussion, engagement and collaboration across Queensland's biosecurity system.
